Paris and Tokyo MOU's on Port state control hold joint concentrated inspection campaign on lifeboat launching arrrangements - Solas ch. III. beginning 1 September 2009.

The Maritime Safety Committee of the IMO at its 85th Session from the 26 November to 5 December 2008 reviewed the progress made in relation to the implementation of LRIT and noted that the work was still in progress and will continue after 31 December 2008.

The Paris MoU Committee decided in May 2008 that the new requirements of the AFS Convention should be enforced by port States in the region. For this purpose the Paris MOU has developed specific guidelines for assessment of AFS compliance.
