Abit Beser
24 March 2011
M/V Abit Beser arrives in Catania (Italy) with her holds full of grain.
According to the new inspection regime she is a standard risk ship already inspected in the last 10 months and marked in THETIS as a ‘no priority’ ship, therefore not liable to be inspected under the Paris MoU region.
After finishing all unloading operations and preparing for leaving, on the 23rd March 2011 the port pilot reports to Catania VTS that an engine failure has occurred to the ship: the main engine is not able to start again.
